Ok so as you probably know Snapchat is a very hot, upcoming social media site. The questions I am receiving from the ladies in my tribe is: Should I be on Snapchat to grow my business?
So here’s the deal, Snapchat is not a platform like Instagram or Facebook where you can easily allow yourself to be seen, followed, and build a following.
Instead, Snapchat is very private, where you post super quick 10 second videos or photos which only last up to 24 hours. In order to see the content, someone has have access to your snapcode or phone number, and you have to have access to theirs in order to interact.
Check out my video review below on if you should be using this for your business:
Because of this, it is NOT a platform I recommend for building an NEW audience. However, I do love Snapchat for my EXISTING followers and community.
My advice is if you have a current tribe, community, followers, and an e-mail list of at least 500-1000 people, then you can begin to integrate Snapchat into your strategy which will help you stay on the forefront of your community’s mind.
Snapchat is a great way to invite people in behind the scenes and really build a deeper, personal connection.
But, if you do not have an existing following, I encourage you to focus building an audience first before spending hours a day updating Snapchat and creating amazing Snaps, which will not be seen. Facebook and Instagram remain in the lead of the social media world, and your time will be best spent building in those platforms first.
If you want to learn how to build your tribe on Facebook, then I would encourage you to join my Build Your Audience Challenge– which is absolutely free. Click Here to Get Access.
This will give you the foundation of what you need to do to build your audience, bringing you to the point of effectively using Snapchat to go deeper into those already existing relationships.
UPDATE: Recently Instagram just released Instagram Stories! This is HUGE!! This is similar to Snapchat but available for your Instagram followers to access! I see Instagram Stories being the perfect solution to bridging the gap between behind the scenes content and more visibility.
Have you hopped on the Snapchat Train? Have you checked out Instagram stories? I would love to hear your thoughts and experiences.
P.S. I’VE GOT A NEW TRAINING FOR YOU!
