How to make business connections to grow your network

There is something to be said for the power that the perfect connection holds. Think about how many people you meet on a daily basis…the cashier at the gas station, the mailman, your trainer at the gym. You never know when the most random person just might be your “perfect connection.” Leveraging social media is all about making connections. I firmly believe that connections are key in business AND life. The more connections you have the bigger your network becomes. The bigger your network is the more resources you have to make your goals a reality. More importantly, more connections can help you help others reach their goals as well. Now I realize that connecting with people may not come naturally

Top 4 Lessons I Learned in 2014

Here we are at the end of 2014. Wow. It’s just incredible how fast time flies as you get older. I’ve been doing a lot of reflecting lately as I put the finishing touches on my 2015 business plan and map out my intentions.

2014 was a big year of growth for me. It was a year where I really pushed that negative voice aside and did a ton of stuff outside of my comfort zone. Not shocking, that resulted in one of the most successful years of my business to date.

It’s Customer Appreciation Month here on DevaniFreeman.com, so I am taking to my Facebook Fan Page to answer questions that your inquiring minds would love the answers to! The enemy we must face when building our business

I am not sure if you can relate to this or not, but I had the problem of hitting a lot of roadblocks when I started my business. I didn’t realize how tough this “inner stuff” would be. What I later came to realize is there was a big voice inside my head making me doubt everything had a name…it’s name is resistance. Resistance is that little voice inside your head that tells you, “Oh this won’t work”, or “you’ll have better luck tomorrow, just call it a day”, or “what gives you the right to teach people”. We all have this enemy we must face. As Steven Pressfield wrote in his book The War of Art, he describes resistance

What I learned about business from a yorkie named Elvis

If you follow me on social media, you’ve probably seen a few photos of my cute little sidekick Elvis who I was babysitting a few weeks ago. Elvis is a 5lb Yorkie with a cute personality that matches his name! I was super excited to be a mamma to this little guy. I haven’t cared for a dog since I was young and never had a teacup size dog at that. As I waved good-bye to my parents as they jetted off to do some international traveling, I scooped up little Elvis and we became instant best friends. Little did I realize how much of an impact this new relationship was going to make in my life and business. The

The truth of my bumpy road to success

As I write this I’m high in the sky flying back to Seattle after a 9 day trip of business and vacation. I can’t tell you how good it feels to have the freedom to travel whenever I want and work from wherever I am. I filled with so much gratitude. Deep..soulful gratitude. I have come along way to reach the point where I feel I could take space to truly relax, detach, play and just BE. As I am buckled up waiting for the plan to take off, I pull out the magazine in the pocket in front of me. The first article that catches my eye is called “Failure is an option”. This article begins to talk about
