Avoiding Information Overload with Goal Free Zones

Being an entrepreneur and working for yourself is not easy. Yes we do have the flexibility to be able to work when we want, however I feel that I work much harder now then I ever did when I was in corporate America (probably because it’s my own business). I have to constantly remind myself to take breaks. Recently I really hit home with a chapter in a book I was reading The Secret Code Of Success, as the author Noah St. John talked about setting Goal Free Zones. Check out my video below:

A Goal-Free Zone is when you give yourself permission to stop setting goals. It is a time and a place to just be. This is so important for your wealth and happiness. Goal-Free Zones can help to reduce the effects of information overload, avoid burnout, reconnect with your authentic self and much more. It is proven that we perform best when we give ourselves breaks every 90-120 minutes.

If your a marketer and/or business owner in the 21st century, you have experienced information overload. You sit down at your computer and before you know it your distracted with email, Facebook, Twitter and much more! Scientists have even come to the conclusion that multi-tasking is NOT more productive, it actually does the opposite.

It is ok to let yourself have downtime. I struggled with this when I launched my business full time. I learned that I had to have talks with myself to let myself know that I deserve this and it helps my all around well-being.

Have you ever noticed that you get the best ideas when you allow yourself to relax? I get my best ideas at night when I am relaxing and unwinding from the day.

Do you make time for Goal-Free Zones? If you do, how do you spend that time?
